Odette Story

Odette is the tragic heroine of the ballet Swan Lake. Cursed by a sorcerer to be a
white swan by day and a woman by night, Odette dances by the enchanted lake,
created from the tears of her mother.

When Prince Siegfried sees her transforming from a swan into a beautiful
maiden he falls in love. But the sorcerer tricks Siegfried into choosing his
daughter, Odile the black swan, for his bride.

Odette and Siegfried are doomed and the only way to be together is to drown
themselves in the lake. However, the ballet is often performed with a happy
ending where the spell is broken and the couple live happily ever after…
